While these are very uncertain times, based on the feedback from the original post on this topic we are proceeding with planning for a fall 2020 golf event at Pinehurst Resort for November 6-8, 2020.
The resort has taken significant steps to keep everyone safe while allowing for a unique event. Pinehurst COVID steps can be found here.
This event will be limited to 20 golfers plus spouses (golfing spouses can be a part of the 20 or choose another Pinehurst course as desired).
Pinehurst has 9 courses to choose from, some more demanding. We are planning to play Pinehurst #2, site of the 1999 and 2024 U.S. Open.
Tentative Agenda
Friday Nov 6: Arrive Southern Pines (KSOP). Transportation to the resort will be provided
Friday evening: 5:30p - 7:30p Reception at the Evergreen Music Room at the Resort
Saturday morning: Golf at Pinehurst #2
Saturday evening: 6:30p - 8:30p, dinner at the resort. Crystal Room (Carolina Dining Room)
Sunday: Depart or optional golf at Forest Creek Golf Club in Southern Pines.
Cost:
Golf at Pinehurst #2 - $350 includes green fee and cart
Optional Sunday golf at Forest Creek - $155 green fee and cart

The Carolina Hotel: Single occupancy: $312
Double Occupancy: $198
The Holly Inn or The Manor:
Single occupancy: $ 282
Double Occupancy: $183
A 10% resort service fee is added to the quoted rate on a nightly basis. This includes use of the Fitness Center, on-call transportation resort-wide, HSIA in guest rooms, valet and self parking, beach club and outdoor pools (based on seasonal availability), bicycles, afternoon tea in the Carolina Hotel Lobby, practice putting greens and (5) driving ranges. The Resort Service Fee also includes gratuities for staff in the dining venues covered by the meal portion of your package, as well as, the bell and door staff.
The nightly package rate and service fees are subject to North Carolina sales tax, currently 7%. A Moore County Occupancy tax of 3% is charged to the room portion of the nightly rate, as well as, on the room portion of the resort service fee.
Many of the spring events planned for Pinehurst have moved to the fall therefore space is limited. You will be able to select where you prefer to stay (Carolina Hotel, Holly Inn or The Manor) at that time.
If the situation does not permit us to proceed in November you will be able to cancel your reservation 30 days in advance.
