Karlovy Vary is a city in the west of the Czech Republic in the region of the same name. The city, which bears the name of Emperor Charles IV, became especially famous as a health resort for the high nobility in the 18th and 19th centuries. Since 2021, the spa town has been on the UNESCO World Heritage List as part of the Historic Spa Towns of Europe.
