Cirrus Owners and Pilots Association (COPA)

The Cirrus Owners and Pilots Association (COPA) is a not-for-profit membership organization established to educate, promote the safety of and support the owners and pilots of certified aircraft manufactured by Cirrus Design Corporation, encourage ownership of these aircraft and provide social activities for its members. Additionally, COPA will promote goodwill towards the general aviation community.

Our Privacy Pledge

We’re committed to protecting and respecting your privacy. We do not share or give access to your personal information to any third party except as is strictly necessary to manage and develop this website or to provide you with a service you have asked for, unless with your express permission or if required by law.

Specifically, this means our website developers and administrators have access to our membership database in order to perform maintenance and develop new features, within the terms of our data processing agreement.

We don't track your behavior on the site, other than in aggregate (Google Analytics). We don't use your profile data in any way, except to provide you information about our activities if you opted in with the user profile field Allow Site to Contact set to Yes.

Use of your Postal Address, Email Address & Phone Number

COPA does not share, sell, or rent its membership mailing list, email addresses, or telephone numbers.

As a member benefit, issues of COPA Pilot magazine are mailed to the postal address you supply us., You may also receive postal mailings from us with information on upcoming social and training events. If you do not wish to receive such mailings, please let us know by calling us at the number provided above.

In addition, your name, email address, membership type and country is uploaded to our event registration systems, RegOnline and eTouches, two services that we use to send emails announcing upcoming social and training events, to those of our members who have opted in. That's it.

Persons who supply us with their telephone numbers will only receive telephone contact from us on issues related to your COPA account or membership.

  • Display your profile name
  • Display adjacent to content you post

To prevent your real name being displayed on the site, either in your profile or adjacent to content you post, visit Account Settings, select the "Post Options" tab, and UNTICK "Enable Display Name". In this case, the username you selected on registration will be displayed instead, and your Practice/Employer/College name will also be concealed.

Information: Your email address (required)

Used to

  • Verify membership verificationto log in.
  • Send you system messages (such as changing your password or content in forum discussions you subscribe to).

To unsubscribe from system emails, change your Account Settings.

  • Distribute via postal mailing issues of COPA Pilot magazine

Used to:

  • Verify membership
  • Display badges in your profile

Used to:

Information: Profile summary

Used to:

  • Display your profile (visible only to other logged in members).

Information: About You, Your Experience and Pilot Qualifications, and Interests.

Used to:

  • Add information In your profile, visible to other logged in members
  • Associate badges for people with similar experience or interests
  • No other purpose.

To ensure the security and confidentiality of personal data that we collect on-line, we use data networks protected, inter alia, by industry standard firewall and password protection. In the course of handling your personal data, we take measures reasonably designed to protect that information from loss, misuse, unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration or destruction. While we cannot guarantee against any loss, misuse or alteration to data, we try to prevent such unfortunate occurrences. 

Access to your information and correction

All information you provide on registration, in your profile or in subsequent content you post on the site is accessible to you at any time by logging into the site. It can also be corrected or deleted by you at any time.
