The DFC90 Autopilot is attitude based and improves flight director performance, improves overall flight performance and adds IAS Hold Mode for flight level changes.  It features a Straight & Level Button, flight envelope protection, and is a slide-in replacement for the S-Tec 55X autopilot.  All serial numbers of Cirrus SRV, SR20 and SR22 aircraft with an Avidyne EXP5000 PFD and S-Tec 55X or 55SR autopilot are eligible for the upgrade.

Eagle Creek Aviation is an Avidyne Elite Dealer and can replace your STec55 autopilot with the DFC90.  Act now and you can save $2,700.  Eagle Creek has some of the most experienced Avidyne and Cirrus technicians and we recently finished our 8th Avidyne R9 upgrade.

Custom installation is provided at all 3 of our affiliated locations, Eagle Creek Aviation (KEYE) Indianapolis, Indiana, Naples Jet Center (KAPF) Naples, Florida, and American Avionics (KBFI) Seattle, Washington.  Prices for installation vary based on your aircraft installed equipment.   This offer will require a substantial deposit, and prompt installation.

This offer is limited to 10 units only at this price.

Great price!  What does the Mod55 PFD update cost, or is that included in the $7,295 price?

I think these were stolen units from folks with DFC90 stickers on their tail.  :)

I had the same thought, but on second glance, assume that is covered by the statement:

"Prices for installation vary based on your aircraft installed equipment".   Hmm

When you make an inquiry contact on this, you will likely then be coaxed into upgrading the PFD into the most recent 8.0.3 Version.

Hi Phil,

I have to react to a possibly negative comment, but most COPAians probably know that you can not upgrade to an Avidyne DFC90 Flight Computer without upgrading the PFD.  It is not about "coaxing", but about greater utility based on an autopilot that takes information from your air data computer.  That having been said, the price does indeed vary based on the installed equipment, therefore it is necessary to know what the aircraft equipment is before you can determine the installation cost.

Thanks,

Craig

Truth yes.  But full truth, probably not.  Is there a Cirrus in existence that does NOT need the MOD55 upgrade?

I'll sell you the keys to a new car for $100.  But depending on what you already own, you might need to buy the new car, too.

While I might have phrased it differently, I agree with Jake.  It is misleading to advertise a $7,295 "Special" for this autopilot with no mention of the installed price.  Quote a range if necessary, but anyone that might be interested in the autopilot will AT LEAST need the Mod55 PFD upgrade, which is not inconsequential.

I hadn't intended my post to be taken as a negative, but judging by earlier replies to your original post, i wasn't alone in not understanding the intended installed price.   But upon a second look at your text, i felt it may have been slyly worded to draw customers in.

Of course, that's the name of the game, Avidlyne builds a quality product    (I bought one, hasn't been installed yet) and this ad is a come on to get prospects to inquire further.  There was one detail left out, that was about the actual installed price, as i doubt there are many (any?) Entegra owners who have upgraded to the 8.0.3 PFD without also buying the FDC90.

Today it appears i wasn't alone in that view.   Nothing wrong with the Ad, per se, except total installed costs will run app twice the advertised price.

if my remark was taken as 'Negative' i apologize,  i reacted to the missing info in the text as i do when someone offers something for sale "POR".     That usually signals to my limited brain they want to give you the 'Pitch' before they give you the Price.   Big Smile
