Has anyone tried the new Bose A20 headsets? Is there a noticeable noise reduction when compared to the Bose X's?

I tried them in the booth at Oshkosh.  Felt good.  Sounded nice.  But so do the Bose X and Zulu that I own.

For $250 more than the Zulu, I don't really see the point.

I BOUGHT ONE AT OSHKOSH and flew home.  The main reason is the bluetooth for the phone.  Yes it is a better set than the X. Lighter and fits much better to the ears. I compared the X and the A20 in the plane while flying.  It is better and the noise canceling is better. Is it worth it.  I do not think I would up grade without bluetooth.  Am I happy to have bought Yes. So I recommend it.  I have upgraded ever headset since Bose began. Bob

Did some direct A/B comparison against the Zulu at the lightspeed tent at KOSH with 5 or so other people. Consensus was that the Bose has slightly better ANR than the Zulu (more attenuation) but voices were slightly clearer in the Zulu - in part due to more high frequency boosting. It is definitely better than the X but how much is very subjective. Advantages are BT, lighter, more comfortable earcups. I still ended up picking up a Zulu due to their trade up program (they gave me $400 credit for an older lightspeed) and to try something new. Will still keep my 4 Bose X and compare.

I owned the Bose first then bought the Zulu.  I have the Zulu on the pilot's side and the Pax gets the Bose.  Comparing the two, I'd say the Bose is a nice fit but when listening to my XM, the Zulu has hands-down superior sound quality.  I see that Sportys has the X for $845.  Guess they're trying to blow out the last of the Bose old-style headsets.  Now that BT is standard, it's about time Bose finally caught up to the "new kid" on the block!  I predict Bose will go the way of Sony real soon.....

Bob,

How does the Buetooth for the phone work and when can you use it? I have not been able to find an explanation for this on the Bose website.

Thanks,

Mike
