COPA University introduces the miniCPPP program as a one-day ground training program to bring CPPP (Cirrus Pilot Proficiency Program) courses to more pilots around the world.
The miniCPPP addresses concerns of those who are unable to commit a full weekend to attend a CPPP. The miniCPPP will also showcase new and exciting ground knowledge courses developed by COPA University.
The Cirrus Pilot proficiency Program (CPPP) has been a remarkably successful program – reputed as the best pilot proficiency program for any type club in the world. It’s companion program, the CDM (Critical Decision Making) seminar has not been as successful, despite reaching up to 500 pilots every year. COPA University decided that it's time to revamp it, and build upon the success of CPPP with many additional ground knowledge courses.
Our goal is to bring CPPP courses to a wider audience, in locations where CPPP is not generally held. We hope that those who attend a miniCPPP will consider coming to the full weekend CPPP.
We plan to offer 5 miniCPPPs this year:
May 26, 2018
KNEW - New Orleans, Louisiana
EHRD - Rotterdam, Netherlands
August 25, 2018
KRNT - Renton, Washington
September 29, 2018
KSYR - Syracuse, New York
October 27, 2018
KPWK - Chicago Executive, Illinois
The exact location and other details are still being worked out. We intend to accommodate up to 40 attendees in a ground-only full day session. Registration will be via the COPA website, just like that for CPPP.
Each program will cost $299, with an early bird registration discount of $50 available up to 30 days prior.
Each program will comprise 4 ground courses from the CPPP course catalog. Two of these courses will focus on pre-flight Aeronautical Decision Making and weather. The other two will be chosen from avionics, safety, maintenance, and piloting skills areas.
The Cirrus Owners & Pilots Association (aka, “COPA”) is a 501(c)7 non-profit corporation dedicated to serving its members. COPA is not in any way affiliated with Cirrus Aircraft, the manufacturer.
