COPA Bahamas Adventure 2019
May 1-5, 2019
Treasure Cay Resort & Marina/Bahamas Beach Club
Treasure Cay, The Bahamas
Treasure Cay is one of the most popular destinations in the Out Islands. Off Great Abaco's east coast, it boasts not only 3 1/2 miles of spectacular white sand beach, called by National Geographic to be among the top 10 beaches in The Bahamas, but also one of the largest marinas in the Commonwealth. Best of all, it’s only about 150 nm from the Florida coast to Treasure Cay Airport (MYAT) so it’s only about a one hour flight until you are enjoying the sun and fun of Treasure Cay.
Once again, we are offering two hotels – the Treasure Cay Hotel Resort & Marina and the Bahamas Beach Club. The hotel rooms of the Treasure Cay Hotel Resort & Marina are on the Marina side with the shops and main restaurant but the resort’s beach and a beach club/restaurant/bar are just a 5-minute walk from your door; The Bahamas Beach Club is on the beach and offers 2 to 5 bedroom condo rentals. Both are beautiful hotels with pools, restaurants and beaches. You will pay a little more at the Bahamas Beach Club because it is on the beach and the units have multiple bedrooms. You also might want to consider sharing the room cost with another couple. Treasure Cay Hotel Resort & Marina is more economical and has the traditional old Bahamas experience. We will be having events at both hotels which are located next to each other. The distance between the two hotels are about a 15 minute walk - -either down the road or down the beach! Or you might also want to inquire at your hotel choice about renting a golf cart for transportation. Please check out both hotel descriptions below as well as the hotel web sites to select your hotel.

Optional Add-on Trip to Dominican Republic May 5-8
OPTIONAL ADD-ON TRIP TO DOMINICAN REPUBLIC AFTER BAHAMAS: COPA is once again partnering with Caribbean Flying Adventures to offer the opportunity for COPA members to fly even farther south in the Caribbean to the Dominican Republic. In 2013, we had eight COPA members fly their airplanes to the "DR" after the Bahamas and all had a fantastic time so don't miss out on this unique experience. On Sunday, May 5 we will fly from Treasure Cay, Bahamas (MYAT) to La Romana (MDLR) in the Dominican Republic (includes fuel stop in Stella Maris, Bahamas - MYLS). Jim Parker has arranged to have the Dominican Republic waive airport fees and departure taxes for our group. Even better, we have a tremendous all-inclusive hotel rate of $239 per person at Casa de Campo, a four-star luxury resort. Please go to the website to check out the wonderful resort. There will be an optional side trip to Santa Domingo, the Dominican Republic's capital and the oldest city in the western hemisphere. We are also exploring a side trip to an eco-resort with zip lining if there is enough interest. If you are interested, click here for more details on the trip and register directly on the Caribbean Flying Adventures website. The registration fee is $425 per plane and includes cost of optional side trips. We will make sure COPA members are identified to Caribbean Flying Adventures. The return flight to the US is on Wednesday, May 8 (or opt to stay longer on your own).
