COPA has an extensive array of information channels for members. They include the on-line forums covering every subject area that pilots or owners would be interested in. The on-line posts and conversational threads are retained and available via a powerful search function. In addition, you will have COPApedia, an on-line encyclopedia, and a bi-monthly magazine covering important ownership and flying subjects including owners experiences. All past issues are archived. COPA has seminars conducted to address subjects important to Cirrus owners and pilots. If you have a question, you can get an answer and most often multiple answers from other owners or subject matter experts.
COPA provides recurrent and advanced training for owners and pilots through a series of regularly scheduled training programs and periodic seminars. The Cirrus Pilots Proficiency Program or CPPP is a weekend comprehensive recurrent training experience scheduled across the United States and world. This program is being expanded into the COPA University, with advanced training opportunities and delivery methods. The half day Critical Decision Making Seminar is also available across the world to improve pilot safety. Seminars are scheduled as part of regional events and the annual Migration three day fly-in that cover other relevant flying and ownership subjects.
COPA is a not for profit membership organization established to educate, promote the safety of, and support the owners and pilots of certified aircraft manufactured by Cirrus Aircraft Company. We encourage ownership of these aircraft and provide online interaction, training programs and social activities for our members. Additionally, COPA will promote goodwill toward the general aviation community.
COPA members have numerous opportunities to socialize starting with interaction on the COPA forums, sharing information and experiences relating to owning and flying Cirrus aircraft. There are numerous face to face events in conjunction with education and safety programs such as CPPP and CDMs as well as the annual Migration fly-in, which include planned social events. Regional fly-ins held through out the world include educational programs, unique flying opportunities and social activities.
In addition to the membership benefits mentioned before COPA has a series of other benefits and services. Technical liaison work is conducted with Cirrus and other key suppliers that provides feedback on critical issue. Special pricing and access is provided from key suppliers, such as aviation data base and insurance providers. COPA branded merchandise is available through the COPA on-line store and a COPA market forum is available to facilitate buying and selling between both members and suppliers.
“I became a member 6 months before actually buying a Cirrus, and learned more in that 6 month period, and in the year and a half since, this site is a plethora of Cirrus specific information...I'll bet even the most experienced will get their money's worth in the first few days if they get to searching. I learn something almost every day.”
The Cirrus Owners & Pilots Association (aka, “COPA”) is a 501(c)7 non-profit corporation dedicated to serving its members. COPA is not in any way affiliated with Cirrus Aircraft, the manufacturer.
