Got bit by wheel wobble and now in need of a fairly priced nose strut fairing for an G-1 (#1173) SR-20. Cirrus Part number for original is 12447-001, with replacements being PN 15563-002.
Damage to my fairing is light and cosmetic and I'm going to wait until annual to replace, since I've got a few months I figured I'd look for a deal in the meantime.
Post a picture. Sounds like an easy repair.
Not sure if this one on Ebay will work (no serial number listed)
I'm no expert, but I don't know if that is repairable or not. Seems like it would be tough to fabricate and attach that broken part.
BTW, the Ebay one (my above post) appears to match yours. He's asking $650, but is accepting Best Offers. I'd offer $350 and see what happens.
If you decide to bid, verify the part number first. I changed my front wheel fairing, G1, to a newer version and the strut fairing had to be changed as well. They are not the same. The new strut fairing also had to be trimmed and shaped to fit. You should be able to repair yours with a simple fiberglass repair.
Thanks Paul, I'll hold my horses until annual and see if we can do a repair. We have some fiberglass experts locally who may be able to repair it
