We bought an Extra 400 in June . It is a 6 seat, pressurized , FIKI, 235 Kt ,radar all glass people hauler. We decided to keep both planes until we got a Cirrus Jet. Both planes are paid for so we don't need to sell it.
After almost 6 months we hardly ever fly the Cirrus. My Wife loves the Bigger cabin in the Extra and the Pressurization. I like the speed. We fly a lot of Charity flights and it is easier for invalid people to get in the step door of the new plane.
My neighbor and dear friend begged us to sell our Cirrus to him. He is 82 and now that the new medical regs are in effect he sold his light sport and was ready for our SR22.
He just called today and according to his doctor he does not qualify for the new regulations. SOOOOOO, we are offering our Cirrus on COPA for 2 weeks then we will list it with a broker if it is not sold.

We have the safest G-1 Cirrus in the fleet. Most planes of our Vintage have the old style chute and would need a Repack 3 years sooner than ours
We have never scrimped on maintenance on this plane. we fly over 300 hours a year .
It was appraised by 2 broker for $249,000.00. It does what a new one does for a lot less.

This plane is an exceptional value on a beautiful Sr22.
The market is really good right now for airplanes. If you aren't getting any offers, your overpriced. Remember, no one cares that you have "the best one available". We all think we have the best one available. Good luck. Looks like a nice airplane.

We agree. We have actually have had 2 full price offers. One person could not get a medical and the second one agreed to buy it and then his wife decided they needed a 6 seater instead.
Both buyers offered us a deposit for our troubles.
We told them that was not necessary. We want win win deal for our baby to go to a good home or we will keep it as a back up plane. :)

With the end of the year fast approaching, aircraft buyers should be thinking about the tax benefits of “pulling the trigger” on an aircraft purchase in 2017. In a word, they are substantial. Here is a succinct explanation of tax benefits that can be realized by purchasing your aircraft by Dec. 31, 2017, according to Aviation Tax Consultants, LLC:
“Section 179 Expensing provides qualifying taxpayer a $500,000 immediate deduction for new or used aircraft. This incentive begins to phase out when the aircraft exceeds $2 million and it is not available when the aircraft exceeds $2.5 million. Section 179 Expensing requires the taxpayer to have sufficient earned income in order to benefit from this Expensing provision."
“Bonus deductions allow qualifying taxpayers a 50% deduction on the cost of new business aircraft, and this deduction is not capped nor does it require current year taxable income. Under some circumstances, this deduction may create a net operating loss for a taxpayer that can result in tax refunds from taxes paid in prior years.”
Controller fixed our ad. It wrongly stated 2800 since Reman. It is 990 since reman .
You can buy a comparable plane for less and then have it be down for months while you out in the interior, Paint, Panel and new lighting. Or you can buy ours and start flying a great, fast Cirrus now.
