There have been instances of belt-driven alternator bracket damage due to improper alignment to the bracket assembly, improper alignment of the alternator to the drive sheave, or a combination of both. Cirrus recently released Service Advisory SA14-02 to inform owners of Continental Service Letter SIL14-4 which gives instructions for inspection and re-installation to prevent this cracking.
