SO, another product I saw at Sebring which I liked quite a bit was "PilotArmor" from AeroShields. These are glare shields to reduce the incoming UV. I like the material and i'm considering a group purchase. I want to know if anyone else here has used the shields and would chime in with their evaluation of the products.
Thanks!

I got a set for the Pilatus about two months ago. So far, so good. They work as advertised. They sent a very complete set include to extra rectangular pieces for spot blocking of the sun.

The company owner is a 737 pilot who was concerned about skin cancer. Turns out his career has given him the opportunity to learn more about skin cancer than most of us want to know. So he passes my first rule of product development. "The solutions you find for your own problems are the ones to which you are most committed".

It turns out AeroShields has a custom kit for Cirrus.

Hey Rj, Any feedback on how the suction cups act on the windows? Do they "scuff" them at all?
Dane Knowlton 2005 SR20-G2 #1599
Hi Dane
That was my concern too, but so far, no scuffing
Hello Rj!
Good deal, that was my concern, I am pretty particular about taking care of my "glass"....so... please add me to the list. And don't eat, you can have my egg roll as well, it would be a bit gamey by the time it arrived here!
I know the "other" screen kits work well for heat and sun but they sure scratch up the lexan and plexi after several placements, especially the windscreen..... the one that counts the most! -- Dane

Do you have any information about the size/shape of the "2 Ground-Shields" (presumably for the windshield)?
Thanks,

Hi Marty
The fabric is the same throughout the cockpit. The front window Ground-Shields are intended to be used while parked. They are cut to fit the whole front window, and are intended not to be used in flight. Photos on the front page of their website are of an Archer and should be self explanatory.
I purchased a set of these at Sun & Fun last year.
I really like the idea - however, in my plane - at the flight school - no joy...
The suction cups are a bit temperamental - to get set correctly - and - the tremendous temperature changes caused them to be constantly coming loose.
If the plane was used only by me - or selected folks - these would stay on year around - however, now, they are rolled up - in storage - because they simply were about to be destroyed at the flight school..
The set I purchased - were for all the windows EXCEPT the windshield - and fit nicely in my SR20 - G3.

Hi Jeff
Thanks for the comments. The designer says the suction cups are indeed an issue it they are not really clean. I find handy wipes do the trick, then they stay on like glue.
