PS Engineering PMA8000B Audio Panel, Mounting Kit and Documentation For Sale
Read about the PMA8000B here. This unit is a drop in replacement for the Garmin GMA 340 audio panel that comes standard in most Cirrus aircraft. Read the comparison of the two units which highlights the enhanced features of the PMA8000B here.
If you will be installing this unit in an aircraft that has a Garmin GMA 340 it is simply a matter of loosening one screw, pulling out the old unit, sliding in the new unit and tightening one screw. When I swapped out this unit for my new one the avionics shop charged me for 30 minutes of labor including all of the paperwork. A complete mounting kit is also included which will allow you to mount this unit in any aircraft even if it does not currently have a Garmin GMA 340 (additional installation time will be required). If you are swapping out a Garmin GMA 340 you can sell it with the mounting kit shown below since the mounting kits work for both.
All of the original documentation is included along with a double sided laminated cheat-sheet to keep in the plane for the various intercom and music distribution modes.
Full disclosure:
1) This unit was installed on 10/05/2006 HOBBS 57.5 and was removed on 08/17/2010 HOBBS 1292.5.
2) The serial number of this unit is M02301 and is not eligible for the Bluetooth upgrade.
3) The volume for music input 1 (XM and inside console jack) was not working correctly. The unit was sent to PS Engineering on 08/17/2010 and the $179.95 flat rate repair fee was paid. The volume problem was fixed and several other components were upgraded including the power supply. The unit was received back from PS Engineering on 09/03/2010 ready to be reinstalled. Repair documentation will be included.

Question - if you plug your I-thingie directly into the jack, does it 'amp up' the output? When plugging an I-thingie directly into the cirrus, some kind of mini-amplifier (IAD) needs to be used...I'm currently using a flightcell pro.
But I'd be interested in this thing as an upgrade - if it boosts up the sound a bit with my I nano. Bid: 850$
Jay,
You are right. The PS Engineering PMA8000B does solve the volume problem that you are describing without the need for any additional devices.
Thanks for the bid!
I just received a bid for $900.00.
