For anyone looking for a fun flight to SW Colorado, I keep an auto at my place, Mountain Landing Guest Quarters (www.mountainlanding.net) , which I allow pilots who fly into Pagosa Springs, Colorado and stay at Mountain Landing to use at no charge (unless I happen to be there using it :- ) ). I'm up there "checking on the business" from here in Texas about 3 times a year, so the rest of the time, its available. Pagosa Springs (PSO, or on older GPS, 2V1), has a great new runway 7,000ft plus and FBO, plenty of room for easy take-off, landings and approaches in my SR-20. For those concerned about mountain flying, an approach flying east to west between Albuquerque and Santa Fe, then turning up the valley keeps you from flying over anything higher than 8,500 ft !...Pagosa boasts the largest developed hot springs in the world. Mountain Landing is the closest place to stay near the airport on Piedra Road.....come for a visit!
