Prices for touch up?
Prices for repainting the wheel pants and struts?
Prices for re-painting the wing?
Turn around time?
While this should be in the market place forum, it would be great to see some price quotes.

Looks like a new company that just started because of layoffs at Cirrus!

I contacted Ross - he is affiliated with the business. I explained to him that while COPA does not explicitly require this, members generally expect commercial posts to disclose the commercial affiliation - and how to add a signature to that effect.
He's a recent member, and I think the point was clearly made, so everybody be nice ok?

Yes Michael we are a new company but none of our employees were laid off. All employees of Midwest Aircraft Refinishing, Inc. are current Cirrus Design employees. We have over 20 years combined factory experience painting cirrus airplanes including all brand new ones.
How much do you charge to repaint an entire Cirrus?
How many people would consider doing this as those lousy factory paint jobs come to the end of their useful lives?
I live vicariously through myself!
Ross,
Does you company do anything different than the original paint from Cirrus? As Robert elluded too, the quality of the paint on my 2205 SR22 is quite poor.
Tony
I had touch up work done on my left wing tip 18 months ago after a bird strike. The first flight after the painting already produced a few small "pits" in the paint on the leading edge after landing. Can a good paint shop prevent that?

Robert Apenis: How much do you charge to repaint an entire Cirrus? Total re-paints can range from 130 - 200 man hours at our $80/hour shop rate plus decals and paint for a better than new finish How many people would consider doing this as those lousy factory paint jobs come to the end of their useful lives? I think most people who take pride in their aircraft should keep it in good condition. Resale value improves as well when the airplane looks like new.

The first flight after the painting already produced a few small "pits" in the paint on the leading edge after landing. Can a good paint shop prevent that? Absolutely Brian. When a bird strike is encountered, all paint, primer and bodywork should be removed down to bare composite to both remove any cracks and assess the condition of the composite. When an exterior touch-up is performed there is no reason that the finish should be inferior to original.

Tony,
On a composite airplane there are certain paints approved on specific areas of the aircraft due to heat transfer rates. eg. no dark paints on wings, no black on structural parts, ect. Older aircraft use an inferior single stage paint that gets dull after only a couple years. An aircraft such as yours uses a base/clear coat type paint. If the finish looks dull it may be in need of a simple buff done by a professional. If it shows cracks or blend lines or other physical defects it would need to be painted. We avoid cutting corners that cause such defects.
As far as other paints go there are a few options other than the white, beige, red, silver, gold, and blue you see out of the factory. There are actually three shades of blue available, yellow, orange, pearl white, and black on wingtips.
So.... around $20k with some minor repairs?
