We are reluctantly considering selling our very new SR20, based in VA at KHEF:

--Matador Exterior Stripe

--Stone Fabric Interior

--GNS 430W / 420W

--Autopilot 55SR

--Weather Datalink & Audio (enjoy the sounds of XM radio while shooting an approach!)

--Skywatch

--EMax

--Tanis Engine Pre-heater

--Standard 2 Year Warrenty

--Includes 2 Year Maintenance

We may be adding in CMax within the next few weeks.

We will consider all reasonable offers.

E-mail gregsr20-cirrus@yahoo.com, or call Greg at 1-888-296-6459. I'm traveling between the US and Europe quite a bit, so if I don't answer, please leave a detailed message letting me know the best time to return your call, and your time zone.

Greg, You just won the plane. What gives?

The best cure for "wife ack" is to deploy chaff:    $...$$....$....$$$.....$ .....$$$.....$ ....$$

I have an opportunity to spend more working time in Europe... which means less time for flying.  If I make the decision to move to Europe, then it would be a sad waste of a great airplane to leave it sitting back here in the US.  Part of me is hoping that no one makes an offer on the plane, and then I would be ...forced... to stay here in the US and keep flying!!!Cool

You wouldn't be the first US pilot assigned into Europe to have his aircraft flown over so he could fly it while he's here....Smile

Where are you going to be based? Do you plan to fly at all while over here?

If I do take the assignment, it would be in Brussels, BE.  I've run the numbers on keeping the plane there, and, sadly, I think it would make much more sense financially to sell it. Lightning

Right now, I'm starting to think that I will keep it, since there have been a lot of calls, but no firm offers.  It looks like I may not take that European assignment...

I met an individual at the European COPA Migration earlier this year who lives in Brussels and was looking at the options in purchasing an SR20.  I can't speak for him, but perhaps he may be interested in a partnership deal if that is something that tickles your fancy if you were to move out there?

I very much appreciate you passing along that idea, but I think it would not be feasible, as the costs of owning and flying in the EU make me think that I would fly less and less. I did a flight from BE to southern France with a colleague, and I was shocked about the fees associated with what should have been a simple flight!  It doesn't make sense to keep the plane (or even half of it in a partnership) if I'm not using it.

I guess I'm spoiled by the low costs we have here in the US, and ease of using the airspace.  I think that many US pilots may not really appreciate what we have compared to the rest of the world.  I really am thinking about not taking the assignment... which may be just an excuse to keep the planeBig Smile

Greg,

As an American who has been flying in Europe for the past two years i know first hand what a shock the costs of flying here are.

The good news is that in the past few months the dollar/pound/euro exchange rate has improved for he benefit of those of us who are dollar based.  That said it is still an expensive proposition to fly here.  Every airport charges landing fees. There are also fees charged for flying approaches.  Another breath catching expense is the cost of fuel, a few months ago it was more than $11 a gallon..  Now it's down around $9 plus.

As they say, don't forget your wallet.
