Georgia, I am sure this is the same mod you have. But, the autopilot software is V 7 (I think), and that may be new. It is an STec install, and I am not sure when it was offered. Your log book entry may tell you what software level your autopilot was set to when the mod was done.

On a side note: you mention the STec Roll Servo Modification to the plane to correct the autopilot. I have had my 2004 for 2 years, is this an old modification, or is it something new?

I think the final price was about $85,000 installed. As an Early Adopter I also got some other benefits, like free SVS and EVS software when available, a discount on the autopilot, and free Transition Training. Finally, Avidyne has the right to demo my plane at their expense for up to 50 hours.

What was the original warranty they offered? As an early adopter I would have hoped that it was at least 2 years.

Nice write up Craig. Your experience with the Avidyne people mirrors mine. Thanks for sharing this from the customer point of view. I will be interested in your post-delivery experience and impressions.

I look forward to hear how your experience goes Craig. I used to do business with Avidyne about 4 years ago and I can tell you it is a good company and Dan Schwinn, the founder/CEO, is a good guy. By the way, I have a mother-in-law in Brookfield WI too, we'll have to exchange war stories some time...
