Blog log and aviation law

I think the place I should start is to let everyone know that I'm more then a pretty face.  It just so happens that I have more to say than how I find all of those pictures to suit the mood of the latest post.

So. . . In the interests of "credibility", and from time to time, I'll post some of the latest "goings-on" in law, and in particular, aviation law.

The best place to start is to answer the obvious question; "what is aviation law". Well, the not-so-obviously answer is that there is no such thing.

Aviaiton law is a composit of:

1) Insurance law

2) Contract law

3) Administrative law

4) Tort law

5) International law

6) And the law of suing doctors (Just kidding.  We leave that to other lawyers)

So, as I come across an interesting story, I'll let you know. If you come across something interesting, or have a question, let's hear about it.  So let's work together, and learn more about our aviation addiction. Teamwork helps.

The Great Aviation Merge

Have you ever been to a large convention Home Show; This is bigger. Have you ever been to a National Car Show: This is bigger. Have you been to the Oshkosh Fly-In: This is bigger . . .   I think

OK, this isn't strictly Aviation Law, but I'm at the the National Business Aircraft Assn. show, better known as NBAA in Orlando. I'm here in advance of the big show starting Monday through Wed. My intended mission relates to NBAA Taxation, Finance and Law 2 day seminar (geez, I hate when they go till 5:00 and you can't leave a bit early). Anyhow I'm here for Sat & Sunday; I'm am becoming smarter, quickly.

Well, I snuck in to the convention center, and WOW. Come if you can.  I mean they've got everything here. Not just planes and jets, but race cars, boats. Heck, they've even got the civillian version of the Ospry here.

I get asked all the time; "What do I do with that new jet I just bought. I love it but I can't afford to keep it flying as much as I should to justify owning it."

The answer is easy, but you need to take a little time and understand the things you need to know about placing your airplane in a part 135 operation.

I think these things would be better as new blog entries rather than as comments on your first topic.  And I would suggest posting your whitepaper as a blog entry, not a pdf since search engines won't look inside the PDF.  And the Part135 article is worth seeing, lots of stuff in there I'd never heard of.
